Hey, I'm Courtney! A portrait and wedding photographer based in Columbia, South Carolina.

About Me

As a photographer, I have the honor of witnessing love stories unfold in all kinds of ways — but Jessica and Tyler’s Corley Mill House wedding reminded me that even when plans shift, the most beautiful moments still shine through.

Held at the charming Corley Mill House in Lexington, SC, their day was full of emotional first looks, timeless portraits, and one very memorable pivot when the weather decided to make an appearance.

Getting Ready at Corley Mill House

Jessica got ready in the bridal suite of Corley Mill House, surrounded by her bridesmaids. Her details were classic and romantic — a delicate veil, heirloom jewelry, and floral accents that set the tone for the day.

Meanwhile, Tyler was nearby getting ready with his groomsmen, keeping things light (and slightly chaotic — in the best way). You could feel the excitement in the air.

Emotional First Looks

One of my favorite moments of the day was Jessica’s first look with her dad. The second he turned around and saw her — eyes already welling up — there wasn’t a dry eye in sight. You could feel the weight of the moment between them: pride, joy, love, and a little disbelief that this day had finally arrived.

Then, Jessica shared a first look with Tyler. The rain was starting to come down outside, but they didn’t even seem to notice. It was just the two of them, soaking in the moment before the ceremony began. Calm. Grounded. Ready.

The Corley Mill House wedding indoor ceremony

Indoor Ceremony at The Corley Mill House

Originally planned as an outdoor ceremony, a last-minute rain shower brought everything inside — and honestly? It couldn’t have felt more intimate. The warm glow of the candlelight and the sound of rain gently tapping outside added a kind of magic that no one could’ve planned for.

As they exchanged vows surrounded by their closest people, the room felt full of love and presence. It was a beautiful reminder that what matters most isn’t how the day happens — but who you’re holding onto through it all.

Portraits That Captured the Calm

After the ceremony, we stole a few quiet moments for couple portraits. The light after the rain was soft and golden, and the way Jessica and Tyler looked at each other? Pure joy. Those just-married portraits are always some of my favorites — relaxed, happy, and full of real connection.

A Day Worth Remembering

Jessica and Tyler’s Corley Mill House wedding may not have gone exactly as planned, but it was beautiful in every way that mattered. From the sweet moments getting ready to the teary first looks, their day was full of meaning, heart, and a little Southern charm.

If you’re dreaming of a wedding day that feels calm, intentional, and full of joy — no matter what the weather brings — Corley Mill House is a venue that delivers timeless beauty and real heart.
